Musician Chuck Mangione, best known for the hit song and album 'Feels So Good,' died Tuesday (July 22) at the age of 84 from natural causes at his home in Rochester, New York, his family confirmed in a statement to the Democrat & Chronicle on Thursday (July 24).

“The family of Chuck Mangione is deeply saddened to share that Chuck peacefully passed away in his sleep at his home in Rochester, New York on July 22, 2025,” his family said.

Mangione, a Rochester native, was a jazz composer who played the trumpet and flugelhorn, having released more than 30 albums selling millions of copies during his legendary career, which included the commercially popular Feels So Good and its titular single in 1978. The song was frequently referenced on the iconic animated series King of the Hill, which featured Mangione voicing himself as a recurring character.

Mangione also composed 'Give it All You Got,' which served as the theme song for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid.

“Chuck’s love affair with music has been characterized by his boundless energy, unabashed enthusiasm, and pure joy that radiated from the stage,” Mangione's family said in the statement shared to the Democrat & Chronicle. “His appreciation for his loyal worldwide fans was genuine as evidenced by how often he would sit at the edge of the stage after a concert for however long it took to sign autographs for the fans who stayed to meet him and the band.”
