Prince’s former original backing band The Revolution really brought something special to us at Berkeley’s UC Theater! For so many of us, the last time we saw this collection of Prince band members was in “Purple Rain.” To see them live, together again, was a true honor and Brownmark, Wendy And Lisa, Bobby Z., and Dr. Fink show why Prince chose them from the very beginning. They were outstanding! Check out the video I took of them last night! From Wendy’s “When Doves Cry” shredding guitar solo to Brownmark’s totally kick-ass funk bass licks on “Let’s Work” to Bobby Z holding down the beat like a madman, Dr. Fink’s crazy lead synthesizer lines and Lisa Coleman’s emotive keyboard work - they kept the crowd hanging on their every note!
