Tom Cruise is hoping to become the first civilian to do a spacewalk outside of the International Space Station.
Cruise will star in an untitled film by director Doug Liman and it was already reported scenes would be filmed at the actual space station. Now, Cruise is planning to perform the spacewalk when he blasts off the planet. A Universal Pictures official said most of the film will actually take place on Earth with Cruise having to travel to space to save the day. The film is expected to have a budget of close to 200 million dollars.
Meanwhile, thanks to a former employee, Tom Cruise has had to beef up his security. Recently, a stunt producer on the upcoming Mission Impossible 8 was fired, and he wasn't happy about it.
Sources say the fired employee's firing led to "fears of further reprisals," which led to heavier security. The former employee is currently suing Tom, Paramount Pictures, and director Christopher McQuarrie.
