There's a long-standing rumor that Queen was once considering George Michael as a replacement for Freddie Mercury. But drummer Roger Taylor says it's just a rock'n'roll myth.
Michael performed with the band at the 1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness. But Taylor says Michael "wouldn't have suited us" and "wasn't really used to working with a live band".
Michael, who died in 2016, called the Freddie Mercury concert "probably the proudest, proudest moment of my career" and like "living out a childhood fantasy".
