These Bay Area Counties Can Reopen In Red Tier Starting Tomorrow

StockSnap

A few more counties in the Bay Area are taking steps to get back to normal. Gov. Gavin Newsom moved San Mateo and Marin counties from the purple tier to the red tier status. The Gov. also said, eight more counties will be monitored and may be moving out of the state’s most restrictive tier on March 2.

Just a reminder counties under the Red tier are able to reopen:

  • Retail stores, including malls, grocery stores, and wine shops, can increase capacity to 50 percent
  • Indoor restaurant dining rooms can open 25 percent capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer
  • Movie theaters can open at 25 percent capacity (but snack bars must remain closed)
  • Gyms and fitness studios can open indoors at 10 percent capacity
  • Museums can open indoors at 25 percent capacity
