Julia Roberts, Matt McConaughey, Jennifer Aniston and a host of other A-list celebs have signed on to "remake" the 80's classic 'Fast Times At Ridgemont High.' If you are a purist and you are starting to steam at the thought of anyone other than Sean Penn playing the iconic far out surfer Jeff Spicoli, don't worry. The actual event will only be a virtual table read of the original script presented by comedian Dane Cook. That is the good news, the bad news is that although Sean Penn will be on hand he is only throwing the charity bash, he will not be reviving his old character Jeff Spicoli.
Sean expressed excitement at the thought of Dane Cook taking the reigns on this big night, "On behalf of our dedicated team at CORE, I'm so appreciative of the support Dane has given and continues to give to our work. "So, to gather remotely for a night of laughs with so many talented folks while providing CORE with much-needed resources to continue our vital work, then consider us fully onboard to play!" The event is scheduled for this Thursday, August 20 and it is all in support of CORE, an emergency relief organization founded by Sean Penn.
They shared on Instagram, "This just in:#FastTimesLive will now stream on Friday at 8pm ET / 5pm PT, and#BradPittand@JimmyKimmelwill be joining the all-star cast! All proceeds will benefit the COVID-19 relief efforts of@COREResponseand@Reform, tune in to Facebook.com/COREResponse or TikTok.com/COREResponse on August 21. It's going to be awesome, totally awesome! 🎬"
