This One Trick Will Make Your Ceiling Fan Blow Cool or Warm Air

If you have a ceiling fan at home and you feel like it has not been blowing cool air there is a quick fix for that. There's a switch on pretty much every ceiling fan that switches your fan from a "warm air" setting to a "cool air" setting. Technically it's not built to work as a heater or air conditioner but here is what the switch does do. The switch rotates the direction of the blades thus rotating the circulation of the air.

A ceiling fan that spins counterclockwise is actually pushing cool air downward. If you flip the switch it actually turns the blades in the opposite direction to pull air upward and push the warm air that naturally rises back down. In short, if your fan is spinning counterclockwise then you will get cool air if it is spinning clockwise it will be much warmer.
