Desperate times call for desperate measures and Target is taking them right now. Target announced that they would be closing six stores in response to the weekend riots. The Oakland Broadway location is one of the stores on the list.
The company also announced that they would be paying employees impacted by the closures for up to 14 days of scheduled hours. In the latest statement, the retailer said: "We recognize the important role we play in helping our communities shop for the food, medicine and other essentials they need. We apologize for the inconvenience and will reopen our stores on their normally scheduled hours as soon as it is safe to do so."
