The virtual meeting out Zoom has skyrocketed in popularity since the coronavirus pandemic. The amount of hackers trying to infiltrate the site has also skyrocketed. Zoom is taking extra precautions to maintain security for its users. This involves a mandatory update to Zoom 5.0. The update must be completed by this Saturday in order for you to continue to use the virtual app.
According to their website, "After May 30, 2020, all Zoom clients on older versions will receive a forced upgrade when trying to join meetings as GCM Encryption will be fully enabled across the Zoom platform." If you do not upgrade you will not be able to proceed. Along with this new security update users will now see a green encryption shield in the upper left corner of the window when logged in. This will let meeting participants know that they are in a safe and secure conversation.
