Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo and Hurricane Harbor in Concord announced that they will reopen the parks in June. Park officials also announced new guidelines for visitors who are planning to come enjoy a day of exciting thrills. In light of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic Six Flags visitors over the age of 2 will now be required to wear a mask while they are at either park. Visitors must also have their temperature checked using contact-free infrared thermal imaging before entering. If you do not have a mask they will be available for purchase at the front gate of both parks.
The park will also have hand washing stations set-up throughout the park along with distance markers and directional markers to help drive one-way foot traffic. Coaster riders will be separated by empty rows and seats. Roller coasters and other attractions will also be disinfected several times throughout the day.
Each park will serve a modified food menu with mobile ordering options. There will no longer be self-service condiments, cutlery, napkins or beverages. These items will be handed out by workers by request.
As of right now tickets will only be able to be purchased online ahead of time so that the park can control the number of guests. Tickets can be reserved at sixflags.com/reserve. Park guests will be contacted electronically the day before their planned visit to confirm their health status.
