Santa Clara County is moving deeper into Phase 2. Businesses are on track to reopen on Friday and with the new openings come new safety precautions. Under the new Santa Clara county public health order, which takes effect Friday, residents are required to wear a face covering when at any business regardless of whether it is indoors or outdoors. Folks will also be required to wear a mask while riding public transit.
Although it is not stated in the health order residents are “strongly encouraged” to wear a face covering whenever they are out and about in any public space. In addition to the county order the San Jose City Council has proposed its own ordinance, that would require that individuals wear face coverings whenever they are in public places, including parks, or interacting with a member of the public outside their immediate household. The vote to pass the additional measures will be held on June 2nd.
