The beaches of Jacksonville, Florida have been taken over by crowds just a day after the mayor announced they would reopen with limited hours. The directive allows people to jog, bike, fish, surf, or engage in other physical activities. Sunbathing and gatherings of more than ten people will still be prohibited
The Mayor Lenny Curry said. "Folks, this could be the beginning of the pathway back to normal life, but please respect and follow these limitations." From the looks of the first pictures it doesn't seem like people are taking the restrictions to heart. Several people were spotted hanging out in large groups. If people continue to ignore the rules, the beaches could be closed down again. Authorities stressed that they would cite people who were not following the rules.
