Complete details will be announced this Tuesday at 10am ET. Steven Tyler teased the announcement in a video on their social media platforms that shows him placing the letters announcing the show on the Bowl's marquee with help from their longtime photographer Ross Halfin. Asked by Halfin if he misses performing, Tyler says, "Of all the things I ever missed, I missed my mind the most."
Aerosmith did their last show on September 9th, 2023 at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. It was the fourth show on their Peace Out farewell tour, and Tyler fell and fractured his larynx, causing them to postpone their entire tour for a year before they eventually canceled it.
Appropriately enough, their last song was "Walk This Way." Ironically, Tyler and Joe Perry's last performance together was last September when Tyler joined The Joe Perry Project -- featuring Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford -- at the Hollywood Bowl. He sang "Walk This Way" and Aerosmith's cover of "The Train Kept A-Rollin'."
No word if drummer Joey Kramer will be with them.
This past July he was asked about the possibility of performing with the band again and he said, "I can testify to the fact that I never know what's gonna happen with my band," adding that, "I don't know of anything right now. Nothing's been mentioned or talked about. But you just never know." Kramer has had his ups and downs with the band over the last seven years or so with having to sit out dates due to physical ailments, or, as in 2022 to "focus his full attention on his family during these uncertain times." And in 2020 he sued the band in a bid to perform with them when they were honored as MusiCares Person of the Year.
While a judge rejected his injunction request, he did attend but did not perform. The last time Kramer performed with Aerosmith was on February 14th, 2020, during their Deuces Are Wild Las Vegas residency at the Park MGM Theater.
