Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Announces 2026 Class

Phil Collins, Wu-Tang Clan, and Oasis are among those in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's class of 2026. The list of inductees also includes Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order in the Performer category along with Sade [[ shah-DAY ]] and Luther Vandross.The Early Influence Award will go to Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, and Gram Parsons, recognizing their lasting impact on music history.

Iron Maiden has been selected for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame after years of absence and two unsuccessful nominations. The band's frontman, Bruce Dickinson, previously mocked the Hall in 2018. Iron Maiden's camp released a statement expressing gratitude for the recognition and acknowledging their fans' support over the years. The induction ceremony will take place on November 14 in Los Angeles, with ABC & Disney+ broadcasting the event in December. Five Finger Death Punch Support Future America Athletes

BRING ME THE HORIZON: Re-Record Debut

Bring Me the Horizon are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their first album with a new re-recording and a special show where they'll play it in full. Count Your Blessings: Repented is due out July 10th and the band says that it's a “reactivation” and “recontextualization” of the 2006 release. They've also changed the name a few tracks, with "Liquor & Lost Love" under its original working title "Dragon Slaying" and two others that are blurred out on the photo of the new album cover. Also on July 10th Bring Me The Horizon will play the album in full at the B.E.C. Arena in Manchester, England.

·In 1971 - The Illinois Crime Commission came out with a list of drug-oriented tunes. The songs of infamy included "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane, "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" by the Beatles, and "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum.

·In 1980 - A New Jersey State assemblyman introduced a resolution to make Bruce Springsteen's "Born To Run" the official state song of New Jersey. The resolution passed the assembly but not the state Senate.

·In 1982 - Van Halen released their fifth studio album, Diver Down, with the singles "Dancing in the Street," and "(Oh) Pretty Woman."

·In 1983 - David Bowie released his 15th studio album, Let’s Dance, to massive commercial success, reaching number one in numerous countries. After the release of Scary Monsters (1980), Bowie began a period of numerous musical collaborations and film appearances. By 1982, he left RCA Records out of dissatisfaction and signed with EMI America. Wanting a fresh start, he chose Nile Rodgers of the band Chic to co-produce his next record. Let’s Dance remains Bowie's best-selling album.

·In 1997 - Creed released their debut studio album, My Own Prison. It features the singles "My Own Prison," "Torn," "What’s This Life For," and "One."

·In 2009 - Former Beatle George Harrison was honored with a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles. Sir Paul McCartney attended the unveiling outside the landmark Capitol Records building, joining Harrison's widow Olivia and son Dhani. Tom Petty, along with actors Eric Idle and Tom Hanks, also attended the ceremony.

·in 2012, the Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Adam “MCA” Yauch too ill to attend. He passed weeks later following a valiant fight with cancer of the salivary gland and lymph node.
