REO Speedwagon frontman Kevin Cronin says he was "touched" by a family's random act of kindness.
The incident occurred Monday in Canada, where REO was preparing to perform with Styx on Tuesday. Cronin says he'd decided to kill some time with a little exercise -- so he visited a bike rental kiosk in Toronto to get himself a set of wheels. However, for whatever reason, Cronin wasn't able to rent one, he says. And that's when he was approached by a family he'd never met before.
"A super-friendly family went out of their way and offered me one of their rental bikes," says Cronin, who adds the family didn't know he was a famous rock singer. "They refused to take no for an answer, nor would they accept any token of my appreciation … including free concert tickets for Tuesday night. We all need reaffirmation of the intrinsic kindness in human nature, and I got my daily reminded today in Toronto."
