Alec John Such, the original bassist for Bon Jovi, has died at the age of 70.
A native of Yonkers, NY, Such played in early bands with guitarist Richie Sambora before joining Bon Jovi in 1983. He left the group in 1994 because he "started to get burned out".
Such rejoined Bon Jovi for the band's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2018.
In a statement, the band said it was "heartbroken" and said Such was "integral to the formation of the band".
