It’s beginning to look a lot like…scammers! Beware this holiday scam! One of the top ones to look out for is the fake package delivery notice!
If you get a text from one of the major delivery companies, UPS, FedEx, USPS, or Amazon, asking you to click a link concerning your delivery, it may say to update a delivery preference, and there could be tracking number and everything. STOP! DO NOT click! The Federal Trade Commission says ask yourself these questions
- “Was I expecting a package delivery?”
- “Did I send a package to someone?”
- “Did I ask for text notifications?”
Bottom line: If you get an unexpected text message, don’t click on any links. If you think it could be legit, contact the company, using a website or phone number you know is real. Don’t use the information in the text message! Have you ever been scammed??
