Here's How You Can Prevent A Fire & Help Firefighters

In Napa and Sonoma Counties evacuations are under way due to the fires, large animals can be taken to the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds.

Our California firefighters have been working around the clock since the lightning complex fires started August 17. The best thing we can do for them right now is not cause sparks which could start more fires. One less spark equals one less fire.

Here’s some Cal Fire tips:

Mow your lawn before 10am before the temperatures spike.

When you’re driving, make sure there’s nothing dragging from your car or truck, anything dragging could cause sparks

Never pull over in dry grass. Hot exhaust pipes and mufflers can start fires that you won’t even see—until it’s too late!

If you’re in Sonoma and need help evacuating animals call 707-861-0699 (Sonoma CART). If you need help evacuating livestock call 707-234-7193 (NorCal Livestock Evac). Large animals can be taken to Santa Rosa Fairgrounds.
