Guns 'N Roses guitarist Slash is taking a trip down memory lane.
In an interview with Kerrang, Slash talked about the first time he ever heard Axl Rose's voice.
It was on a cassette tape Izzy Stradlin (co-founding GNR guitarist) played for him.
Slash said, "My first impression was that it was very soulful. It had a bluesy, melodic thing to it, which was rare for that type of voice. You didn't often hear somebody hold that melody together so naturally".
Soon after he went to a show, not realizing he was going to see the same person he heard on the cassette.
"They were f***ing hardcore on stage. Izzy was doing knee slides and Axl was bashing down. It was cool, like F***"
And as they say, the rest is history.
