A Florida woman who recently put her house on the market was shocked to come home one day to discover her entire driveway had been stolen.
Tampa resident Amanda Brochu says after listing her home, she began getting calls from contractors who claimed they were hired by “a landlord to replace the driveway.” She told the callers she owned the home and didn’t need a new driveway, she says. Nevertheless, she came home one day to find a muddy patch where her driveway once was, Brochu says.
Brochu’s real estate agent, Rocki Sanchez, says she’s just as shocked as Brochu is. “Utter shock,” Sanchez says. “I’ve never seen this before. I’ve never had this happen to myself or anyone in our office.”
The theft is under investigation, police say.
