Super Mario Bros. Movie Makes Record-Setting Debut

The Super Mario Bros. Movie stomped the competition like a Goomba at the box office.

The movie raked in $204.6 million domestically and another $173 million globally in its first five days of release.

That breaks the record for the biggest opening weekend by an animated feature, surpassing 2019's Frozen 2.

Air, John Wick: Chapter 4, Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, and Scream VI rounded out the top five.
