After 4-Year Break from the Studio, Styx Returns with New Album
Four years after the band dropped "The Mission," the members of Styx have announced plans to release their 17th studio album. "Crash of the Crowns," which was recorded at singer-guitarist Tommy Shaw's home studio in Nashville, is due to be released June 18th, the band reveals. It will be issued digitally, on CD and on clear and black vinyl, according to the label Alpha Dog 2T/UMe.
Fans can pre-order the album on Styxworld.com now, a label rep says. "I'm constantly amazed at how Tommy's songwriting continues to connect with the social consciousness that spans across generations," says bassist Chuck Panozzo. "That's why Styx remains relevant after all this time -- because we're part of the human condition."
