California Governor Gavin Newsom just announced the details for Phase 2 of the state's plan to reopen. In his daily press conference Gov. Newsom said that under Phase 2 several low risk businesses will be able to reopen to the public. This does come with some sweeping regulations and rules. Under the Governors plan the following businesses will be able to reopen as long as they adhere to the following:
- Perform detailed risk assessments
- Train employees on the spread, screening and training of risks of COVID-19
- Implement a site specific protection plan with cleaning and disinfecting protocols
- Maintain social distancing guidelines.
The Governor said that Phase 2 will NOT include close-contact businesses, such as the reopening of dine-in restaurants and hair salons. It WILL include the following businesses:
- clothing stores
- florists
- bookstores
- warehouses
- manufacturing
- sporting goods stores
- auto dealerships
