6 Bay Area counties just lifted some of the shelter in place restrictions that were set to expire at the end of next month. After consideration from Bay Area health authorities announced that the shelter-in-place order has been amended to allow for some outdoor activities such as construction, landscaping, as well as some recreational activities. This does not mean that the era of social distancing is behind us. Bay Area residents are still expected to maintain appropriate social distancing protocols. The states current health order will remain in place. The new Bay Area changes will go into effect on May 3rd which was the day the original health order was set to expire.

According to Liz Kreutz of ABC 7 News, "The easing of the Bay Area's shelter-in-place order includes things that are *not* allowed in the state's order, such as groups of 12 kids or fewer to participate in recreational activities & the reopening of golf courses. Local health officials say we must abide by state order."
