This is a tough scenario, kind of like standing up at concerts. You want to be respectful of others but I think this guy was in the wrong. You can't hit someone's seat just because they are reclining. No one wants to be reclined on but it's a part of travel. If you don't like it, spring for Row 1 or an exit row!
