The AIDS Memorial Quilt which showcases over 50,000 panels that commemorate the lives of people who have died from this disease, will return to San Francisco. The first panels were created for the quilt in S.F. in 1987. The NAMES Project Foundation, along with House speaker, Nancy Pelosi made the announcement. The quilt will be at the National AIDS Memorial in San Francisco. The archive of 200,000 personal items and documentation that was laid at the quilt will be moved to the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress in 2020. Each panel of the Quilt tells someone's story.
